Some basic goals of socialism come out of the communist manifesto. He believes in revolution, which means he believes in violence. The bourgeoisie has stripped of its halo every occupation hitherto honoured and looked up to with reverent awe. It has converted the physician, the lawyer, the priest, the poet, the man of science, into its paid wage-labourers (476 . The bourgeoisie flattens all of these professions, so they don"t stand out anymore. Burke fears the idea that professions that we should respect and hold in awe get reduced to billboards on the highway. Marx thinks everyone should be equal and the bourgeoisie are above them. Marx is worried about intrinsic values being overrun by moral values.
