The readings this week helped me understand the similarities between the westerners and arabs more and i realized that we have more in common with arab citizens than we have different. In western media, the arab nations are displayed to be in constant strife and engaged with violence. Yet, in ramadan primetime, the documentary displays that there are a multitude of arab programming that does not revolve around violence and terrorism. These programming include: comedy, cooking shows, dramas, and children"s cartoons. The media broadcasted from arab nations are much more diverse and humanizing than the media broadcasted from western nations about the arabs.
