Katrina was a completely man made disaster and cost 108 billion dollars and roughly 2000 lives. Loss of wetlands couldn"t support levies which led to much destruction. Gdp = gross domestic product (how much we make) Gpi = genuine progress indicator (how happy we are) Gaining more wealth at the cost of the environment but our societal gpi is stagnant. Climate change will cause a loss in gdp per capita. Breed w/ one another to create fertile offspring. Population: a group of individuals of a species that live in the same area. Biological evolution is genetic change in pops over time. Genetic changes lead to changes in appearance, function, or behavior over generations. May be random or directed by natural selection.
