Peter pan story has a shape of a myth, which is cyclical, not linear. Related to images of roundness and non-linearity in the story. The narraion: who is the you , ambiguous. Evokes idea of treasure map, and that narraive is treasure: child"s mind is so mobile is that it can"t be mapped, maps can"t encompass imaginaion, child"s mind is inaccessible to adults (sick boat vs adult yacht) Origin stories: a post darwinian fantasy, children as birds. Conining children, and they want to escape: children and fairies, flight and joy. Mothers/ maimie: negaive portrayal of mother because she lets the child ly away, she also bars the window (so he can"t come back) A tragic narraive, barred or lock out.
