ANATOMY 403 Lecture 1:
Document Summary
Divided into two groups: extrinsic & intrinsic. Extrinsic : muscles control movement of upper limb + respiration (ventral rami) Axioappendicular muscles: go from spinal portion limb portion of skeleton. Middle portion wraps around spine and scapula. Lower portion wraps around root of the spine of the scapula. Runs from lower thoracic to iliac crest. Run out to floor of bicipital groove. Superficial back = supplied by ventral (underside) rami. Intrinsic : movement of spine + maintenance of posture. All supplied by dorsal (front) rami of spinal nerves. 2 os coxa left and right ox coxae. Si joint: (sacroiliac) joints = 2 of them connecting with sacrum. Midline pubic symphysis brings together pelvic cavities. 2 left and right hip joints where femur connects. Asis (anterior superior iliac spine) & pubic tubercle in vertical plane. Alar surfaces (wings) medially as si joint + anchor to sacrum to make si. Articular surface (lunate) = where femoral head articulates with.
