02/22/19: learning from other is a great idea. It"s less dangerous, it takes less time, etc: but this isn"t always the case. There are certain factors that make us more likely to learn from others: outcome: the outcome of someone else performing an action determines if another, other aspects: will partake in social learning. If you have a kid who watches another kid try to get a bowl from a cabinet. Whether or not the one observing will do the same thing is based on what happens after the kid gets the bowl. If the kid drops the bowl and it shatters and their mom gets angry, the other probably won"t try it. If the kid"s mom praises them for being resourceful, the other will probably try it. Similarity: the more similar the observer is to the model performing an action, the more likely the observer will try it also.
