Cpu (central processing unit): the part of the computer that is commonly referred to as the brains of the computer. Also known as the processor or microprocessor. Responsible for executing a sequence of stored instructions called a program. Clocks sync execution of instructions: special storage. Clock speed: pulse of clock at a fixed frequency. Multithreading utilizes a single core and focused on optimizing use of cpu time by timing threads better.
