Typically runs online but potentially also offline. Assumption of limited storage & computing power: often thin apps for thin clients. Expect different hardware (desktops, tablets, smartphones), operating systems, & browsers. Although webpages & web apps are closely related, they are not quite the same. Both are content displayed in browsers, retrieved from servers via an internet connection. A webpage or website may exist to run one or more web apps (like facebook) A webpage holds the content and might not be dynamic, e. g. , all text & static images. A web app lets the user do something and so needs dynamic content. A webpage might contain one, multiple, or no web applications.
