Document Summary
Characteristics, attributes, conditions, or qualities of subjects that can be observed and/or measured. Variable is an attribute or characteristic stated in a specific or applied way. Construct is an attribute or characteristic expressed in an abstract/general way. Parameters of the definition used for the variable of interest. Set of procedures used to measure and manipulate variables. Help communicate ideas to others/tells the reader or audience exactly what the variable parameters are and how it was measured in the study. If you didn"t operationalize intelligence then you wouldn"t know how to measure it. In a paper must clearly say how they operationalized variables so the readers know. Discrete: countable in a finite amount of time. It could go up very high, but it is still countable. You could be 25, 10 months, 2 days, 5 hours, 4 seconds, 4 milliseconds, 8 nanoseconds. You could do the same with height, weight, and temperature. 2 in pink,1 in red, in blue.
