Use books to initiate conversation with young children. Encourage children to ask questions about stories. Choose some books that play with language. Begins when children first use a marking tool for a purpose other than drawing. B,d,q,p are the most common letters that are switched backwards. Learn & write (or advance their skills) Using language to talk about things are not physically present. Reading should focus on phonics & basic rules. Reading should parallel children"s natural language learning. Adults tend to learn a second language faster than children, but their final level of second language attainment is not a high as children"s.
