Germany got gold to trade in poland (auschwitz) In conclusion, russia felt it was time to put pressure on the turks to make military bases accessible to the soviets on the dardanelles. Armenian (part of the ottoman empire), the turkish killed the armenians by pushing the population into uninhabitable areas. Armenia was christianized by 1000, surrounding area was islamic. The us felt that it was their responsibility to assist the turks and prevent russian pressure.
