How are jobs structured: the types of jobs that we hold are important to our sense of self, distribution of jobs across a society define economic system. What induces workers to be more productive: scientific management: managers need to understand and control what the workers do, assembly line: every task is scripted, deskilling: workers not able to have upper hand. Firing current workers and hiring private contractor: social democratic model: focus more on social programs to help the poor and unemployed.
