Personality= unique, relatively stable ways in which we think, feel, and behave. Can be different kind of person/ show different personality traits in different situations. Temperament= the characteristics we are born with: easy baby= chill baby. Ex= ali: difficult baby= cry a lot. Ex= yusuf: slow to warm up baby= not open to everybody. Character= value judgments of moral and ethical behavior, learned. 4 perspectives in study of personality: psychodynamic freud, behaviorist skinner, watson, humanist maslow, rogers (?, trait= personality test, meyers- briggs test. 3 parts of personality: id= what you are born with, babies show this aspect of personality. Pleasure principle= we do whatever we want, if we like something we will do it and if we don"t like something we will cry: ego= develops through the need to deal with reality around 2 years. Reality principle= punishment and reward, cause and effect, ability to asses the reality of the world and act accordingly.
