Texas requires registration 30 days prior to the election. States with more educated populations have higher turnout. States with a large percentage of hispanics have lower turnout. Hispanics are usually younger and are more likely to be rst or second generation citizens. States that require proof of id at the polls have lower turnout. Allowing convicted felons who have paid their debt to society to vote increases turnout.
