Humans who fail to eat those criteria do not live good or ourishing lives. Subjectivist accounts of human ourishing that are ultimately grounded in the values, attitudes, desires, personality of the individual. A ourishing life for one person may be di erent than a ourishing life for another. (depending on all these factors). All species have functions that are grounded human nature. The function of human beings is to aquire and express human virtues. (e. g. rational wisdom, courage, temperance, friendship, and social skills). Species are happiest when they ful ll their function. So, human beings are happy in proportion to how well they express those virtues > objectivist account. It"s that i nd the idea of grounding the virtues in human nature totally uncompelling. More of what"s important to you, rather than your sole function.
