Can move into gulf of mexico or bermudas if strong. Subpolar lp cells o o o o o o. Polar front: area of contrast between cold and warm air masses. Rising warm air over cold air creates lp cells. Uplift of warm moist air results in cloud formation and precipitation. Dry sinking air diverges near surface and flows s to form cold polar front. Polar atm masses small and receive little e from sun. Arctic high forms over continental areas in winter (canadian and siberian) Descending winds diverge clockwise near surface to form polar.
