At least one must be depressed mood or loss of interest/pleasure (anhedonia) Depressed mood most of day nearly every day. Marked diminished interest or pleasure in all or most activities. Significant weight loss when not dieting or gain or decrease/increase in activity. Diminished ability to think clearly or concentrate; indecisive. Recurrent thoughts of death, suicidal ideation, or attempt. Reoccurrence is higher in younger people, whose last episode was severe, and people who already had multiple episodes. Most people begin to recover in 1 year. Recurrent episodes are separated by two months during which criteria for depression is not met (otherwise it"s probably just the same episode) Depressed mood most of day, more days than not, for at least 2 years (1 for children/adolescents)
