There is a significant amount of non-verbal information communicated through faces. The fusiform face area and the ventral visual stream help recognize faces. The amygdala and insula are important for recognizing social emotional cues. People were asked how much they usually trust people. Rated pictures of faces based on how trustworthy they are. *people with larger amygdalas are on the two extremes: either very trusting or not. People with average size amygdala report neutral trusting (u shape curve) Determines if something is a biological motion or not. *human movement vs. movement of a wheel causes different activation of sts. Know that things are different according to who you are. First order theory of mind is the ability to predict the thought of another person. Second theory would be understanding what a third person would be thinking about person 1 and 2.
