Antigone and ismene: children of oedipus and their grandmother. Antigone is upset because creon buried his brother eteocles in honor but refused to bury his other brother polyneices (they died by each other"s sword) Antigone and ismene have to prove they are not traitors or they will be stoned. Antigone wants to bury polyneices (he is the traitor creon says) (against creon"s new law) Ismene refuses to help and calls her unwise and a traitor. A guard finds polyneices body buried" in a light dust, tells creon. Sentry brings antigone; she was caught burying him. Creon orders to kill antigone and ismene. Antigone is creon"s last haemon killed himself; antigone had hung herself with her scarf and haemon was crying at her waist. Creon saw him and cried out to him. Haemon spat in his face and plunged a sword into himself. Creon comes back with his dead son to find his wife eurydice had killed herself with a knife.
