Pc tech and modems gave people outside of universities access to connecting- movement to message boards. Suggested young men with computers can break into systems of the world and wreak havoc without people knowing- strongly influenced new generation of computer user and the media especially. Advocated for crime, refutation against hacker ethics, against law enforcement, very angsty.
