On his way back to seriphus, perseus stopped in the kingdom of aethiopia. Aethiopia was ruled by a king cepheus (bro of danaus, aegyptus and phineus) and queen. Cassiopeia boasted her daughter"s (andromeda) beauty over the nereids. Poseidon sent inundations and a sea serpent to kill man and beasts. Oracle: no relief until the king exposed andromeda to the monster to be killed. Andromeda was fastened naked to a rock on the shore. Perseus slew the monster and claimed her in marriage.
