Different societies have different ideas of gender roles and norms. Premarital sex: some countries frown upon in (ex. Women face the repercussions of having a child and are responsible for the prevention. Men have millions of sperm, whereas women have one egg. Some men have power relationships with their women and restrict the use of contraception. Wife/husband don"t need condoms, whereas man/prostitute do need condoms. Some cultures educate girls and promote women in society. Cultural relativist: principle that an individual"s beliefs and activities should be understood based on that person"s own culture, rather than judged against the criteria of another. Ethnocentrism: belief that own culture is superior to all others cultures; holds no tolerance for other cultures.
