That"s not logical: there are ways of thinking. Think like mr. spock: logic, reason, precision, analyze, think like an adult: other ways of thinking. Metaphors, dreams, humor, ambiguity, hunches, think like a child. Hard vs soft thinking: hard thinking. Like a spotlight: focused, harsh, direct: soft thinking. Floodlight: di used, but illuminating a larger landscape. Frozen assets, cash drain, liquid assets, loan shark, bank, trickle-down, liquidate assets, oat a bond, cash ow, solvency. Incredibly valuable and illusive: metaphor for life: class discussion. Elevator: life is like (roger von oak) A room full of open doors which close as you get older. Riding an elevator: lots of ups and downs, somebody is always pushing your buttons. Each is appropriate to a phase of problem solving. Germinal phase: generate as many de nitions of the problem and potential solutions as i can. Practical phase: choose the idea that is best and execute it.
