Demographic transition: colonial america, high birth rates because there are very high death rates, death rates started to go down, more food was produced, vaccinations, advancements in medicine, birth rates stayed high because it was routine, population increases. Population: people moved to cities, having big families was a burden financially, led to smaller families, birth rate falls because the death rate fell.
