Impaired working memory and long term memory and problem solving: types of disorders: excessive fear and anxiety that impares everday. Functioning: specific phobia: fear (excessive fear) that poses no real threat to you. It is about a specific object or situation: these could be people that can go skydiving, they do not have to be people that shy away from everything, example: show them a cat and they can fall apart. Inhibition could be this biological predisposition used as diathesis. Interventions: not every single child tht grew up inhibited is going to develop an anxiety disorder: they difference it that example: say one child is particularly fearful of meeting new people. You select kids who have an easy going style to their play, they are there during the play dates and there are social strategies for the child. The child can face the fear with a lot of support and strategies that can help them cope.
