Inattentional blindness - failure of awareness or attention, due to the fact that you are so focused and busy with a task, cognitively demanding. When will inattentional blindness occur? (3 main conditions) When the thing that we missed is like the things we were supposed to ignore (ex: missed dark colored bear, weren"t supposed to pay attention to guys in black shirts, only looking at the white shirts) No panning, thing being missed is right in front of you. Interruption of the ow of your vision so what you see is skewed. Attention & multitasking in the modern age v. High multitaskers: have worse actual multitasking abilities (actually bad at it, overestimate their abilities to multitask, controlled processing issues, have trouble controlling where attention is put. Group 1 - in cloud lecture, told to just take notes. Group 2 - in cloud lecture, told to take notes and multitask on laptop.
