Something that you share in common with other families - in your opinion. Humans have had some form of family institution since the days when we were hunters and gatherers. Lived as settled agriculturists for about 10,000 years. Family: intimate group of two or more people who: Care for one another and any children. Fictive kin: family in which non-relatives are accepted as part of a family. Is the american family dying or ceasing to exist. Nine out of ten people continue to live in households as family members. Nine out of tenn young adults marry. The majority (three out of four) of those who divorce will remarry. You can"t choose family (besides spouse) - no disaffiliation. Extended family: 2 or more generations live with each other or near to one another. Family of origin/orientation - the family you are born into. Family of procreation - the family formed through marriage of having kids.
