Epizootic - a disease that appears at an unexpected rate, synonymous with an epidemic in humans. Bacteria that causes alterations to their behavior. Started in the east, working it"s way west. Can only grow in a cool temp, bats hibernate body temp dropped to nearly freezing, cold enough for the bacteria to grow. Causes them to wake up mid winter and will search for food- using up a lot of energy then causing them to die when they go to hibernate again.
