Other classification: the spastic type of cp is characterized by abnormal control of the muscles of the arms and legs. Last classifications: dyskinetic - involves impairments in the muscle tone affecting the whole body, mixed - combinations of different types of cp, i. e. - predominately spastic with ataxic features. Spina bifida: a spinal cord defect, most commonly it protrudes, but not always, usually concurrent with hydrocephalus -- uses a shunt.
