To measure communicative behavior of someone who was referred to you, you also need to see what they are good at ! You do not want to characterize someone by only their deficits. Not just collecting data, but interpreting it. When a cultural, regional, gender, or personality difference drives alteration in communication behavior (not disorder) If it works in someone"s communicative region etc than it is acceptable. Someone with standing says i am worried about communicative behavior. Someone with standing: pediatrician, school teacher, parent themselves, counselor, Ex- all students in a kindergarten class. Use something you have created based on experience. *** screening have only one result= pass or fail. If fail, reason to look more carefully. Decide if it is appropriate to invest time/money into an assessment.
