Parameters of the borders is the external auditory meatus. Tympanum membrane connects to middle ear chamber. Starts tympanum membrane, membranous thing that is suspended between the structures, and is the middle of the two structures, One part expands and opens to middle ear chamber. Ends at staples, has shape of a stirrup on a saddle (plate of the stapes is where you would rest your foot) Begins at the stapes footplate, sits on the oval window. Provides protection to entrance to auditory canal. Malleus interacts with tympanic membrane, takes it to incus then to stapes. Cochlea (replaced with a cochlear implant, looks like a seashell in the back) Vestibular division (comes from the semicircular canals) Acoustic to mechanical (comes to your ear in the form of acoustic sound waves) First form of energy to reach your ear is the acoustic energy. Footplate of the stapes to oval window.
