Can study computer algorithms without really thinking about hardware. But that may not be the smartest. Cog activity coordinated with behavior and in response to perceptual input. You see a predator in the distance. Thought it was a lion but its a gazelle. Your dorsal system gave you a false positive. Your visual system could have the opposite error. It is a lion not a gazelle so you stay still. The recognition system needs to minimize both but false negatives are not as bad. Light reflecting off the retina to see a cup.
