Previous rabies remedies included burning the wound, cutting it out, Pasteur developed a vaccine from dog infected spinal cords then fed to rabbits and then their spinal cords were dried for ~15 days and they no longer caused rabies. The vaccine caused people to become paralized and died: autoimmunity problems, your own immune system fights itself, using the actual virus from the spinal cords, experiment #3. Bacteria should have been trapped by the filer => something else was getting through. Bacteria can independently replicate, viruses cannot replicate outside of a living cell: experiment #4. 12 week just aborted pregnancy, so scientist took fetus and found it useful for a polio vaccine, could only grow in nervous system tissues, scared of what happened to pasteur to happen again: experiment #6. Polio virus grown in monkey kidney cells: given to many children, successful.
