A good argument has premises that make the conclusion likely to be true. If the premises have nothing to do with the conclusion it"s a bad argument. If a premise means the argument must be true, it is a deductive argument. If premises are true and conclusion can still be false is an ampliative argument. Deductive - characterized by or based on the interference of particular instances from a general law. Human can reason + bill is a human = bill can reason. Inductive - characterized by the inference of general laws from a particular instances.
