In any particular mode of production the ruling class are usually the ones who come up with the ideas in understanding reality. The problem isn"t your employer or your wages, it is the capitalist mode of production itself. Marx"s goal is to teach a revolutionary consciousness. Humans are distinct from animals because they always labor. But their consciousness is alienated because in this new kind of society, they cannot grasp what is really happening. C-m-c": focuses on the uses of commodities. M-c-m + m: capitalism -> use your commodities to make your money grow. If you look at the commodity the right way you recognize that it is a product of you and you and me and her and so on we are its producers. The problem of marx with the fetishism of commodity is that the people who produce commodities do not understand that it is a part of everyone.
