Everyday approximately 160,000 students stay home from school because they are afraid of being bullied. Difficulty concentrating on school work, emotional distress, anxiety, and depression. Victims don"t report the bullying to adults/or wait before reporting. Students often feel that adult intervention is infrequent and/or unhelpful and they often fear that telling adults will bring retaliation from bullies. 61. 6% of students who are bullied are picked on because of their looks or speech. Passive loners, shy, sensitive, insecure, and don"t pick up on social cues. Do not defend themselves or retaliate and tend to lack of friends.
