Document Summary

Default is an example, so is framing effect, usually everything else is a boost. Default effect : the optin designated as the default is chosen more often. If it"s the default to be an organ donor, there are wayyy more organ donors. Default is the biggest example of a nudge! Another example of a nudge is the framing effect . Loss/gain frames effect how well people try on games. Loss aversion means that people hate to lose resources more than they want to gain resources. Relative risk reduction vs absolute risk reduction (the way you frame the same statement affects how people feel about it) A nudge is intended by the policy maker to steer to chooser"s behavior away from the behavior implied cognitive shortcut and towards her ultimate goal or preference. Affects what people typically claim not to care about. Behavior change brought about by the nudge should be easily reversible, allowing the chooser to act otherwise.
