Civil rights act of 1964- prohibits discrimination in employment, including testing. Methods of assessment- ex) paper and pencil test and interviews. Attributes measured- ex) reasoning and social skills: each of these can be assessed by paper and pencil test or via interviews, but one method may be better than the other for a specific attribute. Need to make sure these comparison groups are similar to person being tested: important to train test administrators to correctly understand and interpret results. Each test had strict requirements for who can administer it (someone with a bachelor"s degree cannot give an iq test or clinical assessment: test battery- collection of tests assessing a variety of different attributes.
