2500 urban societies emerge along the indus river. A lot of material evidence, almost no text. Public bathsgreat city that had a great bath. Not much is known for sure because not many written records. Functional sewer system that emptied into a place underground (yes) Had writing, but it has yet to be deciphered. Some people doubt that they wrote, but they were large enough and had enough contact with civilizations with writing (mesopotamia, etc. ) that they more than likely developed their own system. Have a bull picture very similar to one found in mesopotamia. The difference is we can read cuneiform, but not indus valley script. May or may not have depicted the god shiva. If so, then that means that hinduism predates indo-european influence. The process by which other regions become connected and influence each other (exchange goods and ideas) Harappa probably had a lot of people from different regions. 4000-3000 *indo-european breaks up into separate languages.
