Document Summary

Mostly user error, but they are good barriers. Do not use condoms that have nonoxynol-9 (n-9) It is a spermicide used on some condoms! It can also deteriorate the condom, making it less effective. Partying situations make everything a lot more hazy. Clean sex toys to decrease the risk of stis. Dry sex is dry humping, body rubbing, and hand/finger stimulation. As long as there is no ejaculate, the risk of stis is decreased. Even nonvirgins can abstain from sex until you are sure of a new partner. Very sexually active people (hetero, gay, or bi) should be tested for hiv, Chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis at least once a year, and vaccinated for hepatitis a & b [cdc guidelines] Do not douche unless a doctor says you should, because this will increase bacterial vaginosis, pid, hiv/aids, etc. Douching can increase abrasions in the vagina, increasing likeliness to contract stds/stis. Aids means acquired immune deficiency syndrome, and is caused by hiv.
