Probably modeled after an area called symplegades (clashing rocks) Thrinacia cattle of the sun (helios) Odysseus needs to find the prophet tiresias in the underworld. Tiresias warns for him & his men to suppress their rage, foolishness, & to not slaughter any of the cattle on thrinacia. Odysseus"s men slaughter the cattle & start eating them. Zeus gets involved too odysseus loses all of his men. All of this is about improper eating.
