Livelihoods: different ways people across the world have engaged with the environment. Gathering materials is usually more important than hunting. Women are doing most of the provisioning by gathering. Can move out of one group to another group. Most equal that we see in human society. Foragers can only exist within the constructs of industrialization. Horticulture has multiple different species, little bit of everything that they need. Sedentarism: become sedentary, and live on the same spot of land indefinitely. Put a lot more work into the land to produce more products. Pastoralism: domestication of animals in order for the animals to provide us with produce we need. Transhumance: they keep their base but move the animals through the landscape. Nomadism: much more mobile, they actually pack up their homes and move from place to pla(cid:272)e (cid:374)o set ho(cid:373)e.
