1987 - dsm-iii-r - autistic disorder / pdd-nos. The nature of the disability (if one considers it a disability) We can (kind of) define who has it. We have (almost) no idea what causes it. We can make it better (if you consider it a problem) Aggression, adhd, social impairment, speech/communication deficits, language disorders, Gastrointestinal dysfunction, sleep disturbance, motor problems: apraxia, epilepsy - eeg abnormalities, immune dysfunction. Semi-structured, standardized assessment of communication, social interaction, play, and restricted and repetitive behaviors. Toddler module-for children between 12 and 30 months of age who do not consistently use phrase speech. Module 1-for children 31 months and older who do not consistently use phrase speech. Module 2-for children of any age who use phrase speech but are not verbally fluent. Module 3-for verbally fluent children and young adolescents.
