Asked child which mountain looks most similar to the mountain they see. Then asked what someone across the table would see. Children would say they see what i see . Want to see which way the children think the scale will tip. Conservation concept: changing the appearance of an object does not change its key features. Imaginary audience: the belief that others are as preoccupied with the adolescent as he or she is. Vygotsky addresses this by considering how sociocultural context shapes cognitive development. Range of tasks that are too complex to be mastered alone but can be accomplished with guidance of others who are more skilled. The process by which teachers adjust guidance to fit child"s level of performance.
