Document Summary

Excessive urination( polyurea) : glucose : 100mg/dl -> excrete -> urea. Obesity: type ii diabetes- diagnosis: requires patient to fast and then take their blood sample. If their blood sample has less than 100mg/dl blood glucose -> insulin sentivity. If their blood sample has more than 100mg/dl blood glucose-> either pre-diabetic or diabetic. Hemoglobin test: hgba1c -> glucose starts attaching to the hemoglobin. If hgba1c is >7%, this indicates a high blood glucose concentration. >200mg/dl indicates the signal and symptoms for diabetes. Problem: if there is no insulin, no signal, no glucose transport, glucose will be stuck in the blood. Type i: lack of insulin - 10% of the population. > cause: b cells are attacked by viruses, autoimmune disease. *if insulin receptor is broken: no signals sent, more insulin released but no responses. Type ii: genetic links: 80% are at unhealthy weight.
