Red light district- place where people like robert craft might hang out. White bands tried to replicate it- dixieland jazz band. Great migration - african americans went north and transformed. When jazz emerges, it becomes a music people listen to when they go to bars and drink during prohibition. Black form of music made it to the main stream of music, people had a problem with that. Farmers/agriculture were the first sectors to experience the great depression. David stevenson: got into some argument with wife/girlfriend and beat her almost. Indiana had most kkk members to death, she told everyone what he did scandal. Began to fall off in the 1920s. Non-regulation, no security exchange (people cheated and lied)
