3:35 pm: origin and meaning of intimacy, the word intimacy originates from latin word intimus, meaning deepest loving relationships between two individuals. Intimate relationship: kind of attachment relationship, characterized by mutual love, affection, care, concern, and emotional security between intimate partners. Intellectual intimacy: cognitive intimacy, exchange opinions, share thoughts and ideas with open minds, accepting and enjoying similarities and differences between their viewpoints. If partners interact comfortably in creative and problem solving activities, they can develop intellectual intimacy. Spiritual intimacy: sharing and practicing common faiths, beliefs and values, working together through spiritual growth. If religious and spiritual beliefs are different, should respect and appreciate each other"s needs and beliefs. Fear of intimacy: foi, psychological condition where individual is afraid or anxious about forming intimate relationship with individual who is significantly important to them, memory of childhood rejection is an important reason why people develop foi during adulthood. Individuals with high foi likely to be psychologically maladjusted.
