Franz Boas- fighting against social darwinism, he is called today the father of anthropology, he
is a German geologist, he is into scientific careers. In 1883 Boas goes to the arctic, no one
knows what the arctic is like, scientist and explorers goes to explore it, theres no one that lives
there, besides the Inuit. He would give geology to study anthropology
The three contribution made by Franz Boas
1.) creation of the first post graduate at Columbia university in 1887
