Document Summary
Anatomy- the study of the form of an organism and its organ systems. Physiology- the study of the function of an organism and its organ systems. Hydrochloric acid in stomach -- low ph(2) Humans don"t have cellulase to break down cellulose. We can get nutritional value by mechanically chewing (opening cell walls) We get fiber- some is partially digestible, some is not. Semi soluble fiber works as a brush-- collects cholesterol. If you have fiber in your system, it reduces the amount of cholesterol your body keeps. Long loops of henley= you can go longer without water. Formed in liver, goes through blood stream, and then filtered out by kidneys. Gout- when humans have too much uric acid. Saliva= h20, mucin, bicarbonate salts (buffer), enzymes (amylase) Pancreas, liver, gall bladder (none in horse or rat), intestinal wall. Horses and rats constantly drip, instead of storing.
