Ego depletion acts of self control, will power makes you not do certain things. 1 group is depleted, other group is not. 2nd task persisting at difficult task people in depletion group will give up sooner, so will power is a limited resource, you don"t want to try and exhaust this. If you are going to be exerting a lot of self control, it is hard to avoid the temptation and might seem more tempting than it might be otherwise. Decision fatigue: making a decision tires you our mentally and makes it hard. Avoiding mental decisions you have to make can make room for more mental energy about things you care more about. We don"t always know or recognize when we are depleted or that we are mentally fatiqued. We default to answers that we know when we are mentally fatiqued. This is why 65% of people were not guaranteed parole.
